Welcome to Stomping Friends, the game where you try to befriend giant furry creatures by not getting stepped on. The gameplay is based on the stomping sequences from the old giantess game "Shrink High".

I'm not sure how to let you fullscreen the game yet while it's running in the browser, but you can zoom in with ctrl + mousewheel.

It's still early in development, so there's only two Beasties to choose from. But feel free to let me know what you'd like to see next!

Instructions

Once you've selected a Beastie to befriend and have been warped in, you'll have to avoid their stomps and collect powerups. The goal is to collect as many Friendship Sparks as possible and then enter the Spark Lighter. The more Sparks you've gathered, the stronger your friendship will be.

Arrows/WASD: Movement

Space/Enter: Select/Recover/Enter Spark Lighter

Shift: Sprint (uses Stamina), double tap to instantly recover from being knocked down at the cost of 50 Stamina.

Escape: Skip cutscenes, pause the game

Gamepad support has been implemented now, so the following buttons can serve as the aforementioned keys:

Space/Enter: Button South

Shift: Button West

Escape: Button East/Start

Your assistant professor will warp in a bunch of extra items to help you out. The hearts heal you for 25% health, the bolts regenerate your stamina fully and the coins increase your money total. Make sure not to die though as you get a money reward for surviving.

When you have made enough money, you can buy upgrades in the store. If you're not happy with the upgrades, don't complain to me about it. You can reset your upgrades in the in-game options menu and get a full refund.

What's Next

The gallery feature has finally been added, so... For the next update, I'll be working only on Reine!

Do you think you'll add papaya as a Character?

(+1)

Who knows who the next characters will be! It's a surprise.

(+2)

Lovely game. I enjoyed it, especially the bonus story aspects giving depth to the characters and world. :3

When I was playing, though I know you mention "Shrink High", it reminds me more of a game called "The Diminutive Experience" (which may have also been inspired by SH, but I don't remember which came first), wherein you collect powerups and attempt to rescue other shrunken people as you dodge crushing stomps. Though I do like the idea of becoming friends with the bigs, rather than just trying not to die. xDDD

One thing you might consider adding in the future is more sinks for collected money. Because after you get all the upgrades there's not much more point in collecting it (at least that I can see). Perhaps you can unlock other things with it later like the variant stories, other missions or bonus art for the gallery. I'm sure you might have something in mind, but figured I'd mention it anyway.

Really great game so far and I look forward to future updates! Keep up the great work! ^^

(1 edit) (+1)

I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

I am planning on reworking the shop a bit, since I'm not 100% happy with how it works right now. But yeah I'll have to see what else you'll be able to invest in!

And you're right, TDE is a similar game. It came out after Shrink High and was inspired by it, just like this game was inspired by both!

(+2)

If you get knocked prone on a spark lighter, pressing space to get back up triggers the end of the event.

Ooo, unlucky. I always double-tap shift.

(+1)

This is true, I'll do my best to fix it for the next update!

(+2)

Fabienne is my FAV, can´t wait for more updates to come

Will there possibly be a mobile version

(+1)

There is a plan for a mobile version, but it'll take a while! It'll come after the Reine update!

(+3)

Finally got around to playing Fabienne's content... And I must say, even though hooves are less interesting to me compared to paws, I still really enjoyed what we got! This game continues to be super promising... Let's see what we'll get with Reine next! She wears shoes on her standing picture, so I'm kind of curious what her feet will look like...

(3 edits) (+2)

I bet Reine will be aggressive as she's a bully, trying to jump on Olive from up high, as she sees her shadow get larger, and has to avoid her?? But can only imagine what future bosses would be like.

Imagine a dragoness chef unaware of Olive stomping back and forth across the kitchen panicking as the orders come in? Or Olive hiding in a carpet from another Beastie searching for them? And that's not even discussing the potential for boss variants!

Oh yeah, Reine will definitely be super aggressive! She's gonna be super interesting for me!

The unawarr thing could be good, but I don't know how well it would work with the friendship system... Like she would just mind her own business, and suddebly she's friends with Olive without even seeing her before? Hmmm... But I'm really curious what kind of characters we'll be getting, for sure!

(2 edits)

I wonder if Reine will be at the skate park too?

For unaware scenarios, the Friendship spark game mechanic makes Olive stand out for all bosses, so they can't ignore her. :)

Actually...it would be heartwarming for Olive to befriend a chef...whose on the verge of tears from their orders being returned by unpleasable customers. Olive could support her and help her with her recipe/catering service.

INCREDIBLY hot and well-made game >:]

I'm happy with the lack of gore, even if death is stated (if very reversible and thus treated casually)--not too many Macro/Micro games that care to do that, so it's much appreciated! Though I can already tell before reading the comments that there's gonna be some peeps complaining about there being none :P

Very much looking forward to playing the Reine update as an aquatic anthro lover myself, but the content already there is fantastic! I absolutely ADORE the ludonarrative resonance between each Beastie's personality and their method of attack on poor (lucky) little Olivia; both Blanche's lazy, apathetic stomps going from super slow and off-center to constantly tailing the little human and venting her frustration with a quick second step (plus the single, heavy twist in phase 3, oughghh ^q^) and Fabienne's nervous, reluctant stomps, quick and leading but always punctuated by cringing away because of her fear of bugs, turning to a constant barrage where she stops being anxious and starts almost getting into it like it's a game, twisting and grinding really fast to make sure that bug is down and STAYS down (MAN she's super cute when she's psyching herself up post-stomp) are super expressive and show how much thought you're putting into this as a story (if a silly one xp) and not wholly just a game. Absolutely phenomenal work!!

The flavor text with the end of each run is very nice too (YES Blanche's paws are very soft, DON'T KINKSHAME ME PAPAYA >:[ YOU tp'd me here in the first place ur just JEALOUS)

(P.S: It's probably there in the title screen and I'm just too busy replaying to restart, but is there a Patreon or Ko-Fi I can donate to? I'd like to show my appreciation with a little more than high praises :])

(+1)

I will say, to balance out all my gushing, that there's at least one thing that's lacking a little bit, and it's level variety--there's a slight difference in size/shape between Blanche and Fabienne's rooms, but a little bit of spice might be nice: more obstacles than just the looming foot, like, say, stray clothing (maybe footwear, like the big sneaks n socks that Reine is wearing <.<), wires, trash that missed the wastebin, etc (probably not Fabienne's thing, if anyone so far is a neat freak it's definitely her).

Of course this game is still being made, and the Variant menu option already shows you're thinking of changing stuff up for each Beastie level, so you probably had that idea already and I'm just yammering about the obvious :P

(+2)

I'm so happy that you've enjoyed the game so much, it means a lot! I'm planning on releasing a small update next week, but after that's out I'll get to work on Reine 100%.

I'm not sure if I'll end up making stage obstacles, at least for the current lineup. But it's a good possibility for future Beasties!

Also, since you asked about Patreon, it's completely optional and the game will always be free! But yes, a link is on the title screen :p

(+1)

Hello Rosie-Shady, nice work on the game so far. Brings me memories of Shrink High for sure.

I noticed a little oddity when the game starts and they begin to attack you: Sometimes they... purposefully...? miss their stomps, which is kind of interesting. I think you could add a bit of dialogue with that event as a feature. A few situations come to mind:

  1. A stomp lands anywhere, but you haven't moved since the game started.
  2. A stomp lands on you, still without any movement from your part.
  3. A stomp is going to miss on purpose, but you move and get under it to make sure it hits you.
  4. You've been dodging successfully, but as the lines from the Beasties showing their frustration come through, you end up remaining still. Perhaps the Beastie could notice you are behaving odd from all sudden. They could hesitate to stomp again (maybe the foot twitches a bit, or the stomp takes longer to happen) and dialogue lines happen before the stomp lands.

Lines of dialogue could build up as this keeps happening on a chain, and maybe even give a bit of a different ending cut-scene too if you die with those conditions, as if the Beasties noticed you were acting in such odd way. Even the fight variants could make use of this detail and would help showing their personalities further.

Hey, I'm really happy you enjoyed the game!

The way that the Beasties target your character is that they'll get your position, add your speed as a predictive measure and then add a randomness factor. This last part can make the Beastie miss on their own at pretty much any difficulty, but can catch you off guard if you don't react correctly. This isn't the Beastie missing on purpose however, it's just that they made a mistake!

I am not currently happy with how the in-game dialogue works, since it's very simple (there's only lines for missing, hitting and reaching a higher difficulty) and Beasties don't have that many lines. So I might be able to implement some of your ideas, especially if it's noticeable that you're just trying to get stomped. But it's something I'd have to think about!

(-1)

Can you add a toggle for people like me that enjoy blood splat when the tiny is crushed?

(+2)

I'm sorry, that would not be something that I enjoy so I'm not planning on adding it.

ahh

(+2)

Hello hello! LOVE this game, the definition of its hard to play this game with only one hand lol

Hope more work comes out so I'll post a bit of all the ones I have faught so far!

Fabienne: she's hard and I love it, the hardest one who kept me on my toes, definitely no need for a nerf! Be fun to see how long you survive against her especially and how she hides her hooves or fakes you out

Love the grinds heh~ never knew how bad i was into hooves till now lol

Blanche: she's not hard but not easy I feel, early she is as simple as you could get, mid is a bit challenging and late is when she will screw you up

Not going to lie NERF THOSE BUNNOS (kidding lol) bad enough I have such a simp spot for bumnos, her simple brutal twist makes her special, your main focus is paying very close to her paw and what it does and having to focus heavily on your stamina as trying to fake her is outright near impossible late game, geuss that's why she is a very mean rabbit!

That's all I got for now, again keep up the good work! :)

Blanche is only dangerous at the end, if stats are maxed out, it’s not a big problem. You think Fabienne is alright? She can be a nightmare for me sometimes, even when maxed out because there’s no cool-down, and she keeps stomping me before I have a chance to dodge. I’ve lost so many times just as the final Spark Lighter appears.

(+1)

nightmare? yes but possible to beat, just gotta predict her attacks better

Aye I’ve beaten her. At the end her stomps keep coming out of nowhere, sprinting does nothing.

(+2)

She will try to predict where you trying to run, try to confuse her going in one direction and change to else when the stomp came :3c

Ah! When her anger meter is 100%, if you wiggle LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys, she's easier to avoid, if you listen for the sound cues of when she's going to stomp again.

(+1)

I'm really happy you enjoyed the game! And I hope you'll like the coming updates, too!

(+1)

oh I will, already trying to tell my friends to give it a shot!

(+1)

Can you make this with controller support?

(+1)

It's easy enough to add, I just assumed people would rather play one handed on the keyboard. Controller support will be either in the next update or the one after!

(+2)

This game is awesome and the art is very good! One suggestion I have is maybe when you press against their foot they would get disgusted and have a dialog for it.

(+1)

Since there is a 'Variants' tab for Blanche and Fabienne, will we get something similar for Olive? Fabienne knits her a new outfit if you succeed, after all, and it would be a shame to earn it but never be able to use it...

(+1)

There's no plans at the moment to add skins for Olive I'm afraid, but the next update will feature a Variant for Blanche!

(+1)

MAKE HER SMALLER

lol

(+2)

I loved this! I have a few questions regarding the stomps

How do you plan making them each feel "unique"? I noticed Blanche hangs her paw while Fabienne hides her hoof. How is it gonna be for the others? Any ideas?

Also, will all the stomps and actions be a single paw/hoof? I'd love for a giantess gal to like, either jump on you or fully trample with both feet by marching on top. Loved Fabienne btw!

(+1)

Hey, you want me to reveal all my secrets? :p

Reine will have the most unique fight so far, so I hope you'll enjoy her when she's out!

You're giving me ideas. A deer/raccoon taur (parallel universe scientist) for the final boss. Oh gawd, imagine four paws coming at you at once.... and when defeated and befriended...  she doesn't invade Earth but makes a parallel comic called "Humans 4 Life❣"

(1 edit) (+2)

GG

(+1)

Wow that was crazy close! Good job!!!

(1 edit) (+1)

As trying to do a no upgrades run with Fabianne. I had some caveats with her.

1 there is no indications where is the nex attack a grinding attack or a normal one. Sometimes very fast attacks it grinds you while slow ones don't do nothing. It feels luck based when it happens or not. Like sometimes you get 2 times in a row and other it doesn't happen.

2 sometimes she would home you an attack without her waiting. It seems that it happens because it spawns outside of your screen so you don't have time to react  that is coming after you.

3 a lot of people could probably miss the sound and shakes queues on her fight. So maybe a remider on the fail state could be helpful.

Still trying to beat her without upgrades  i got firendship 3 but i got smushed at the end.

(+1)

Good job on getting so far without upgrades! The game is designed to be very punishing, almost impossible to beat without upgrades since getting stomped is part of the fun. So you're right in that it is kind of unfair. I will slow down Fabienne's grinding stomps for the next update though.

(2 edits)

idk if tuned down is the best idea. Maybe this attack their hitbox is smaller because she only stand on her hoof, an slight tilt to notify, "hey this attack would hurt" (you can use the one already present).  I always find it weird that even if she stand up on her hoofs. Her hitbox is as big as the bunny. Being able to evade easily in any direction would be cool. Or atleast it would knock you down instead of losing life. Like it hitted your head but not your entire body.

You can still evade her of course going up but it just feels weird for her design. I can't calculate well when did I evade her succesfully

Another way is to modify the sound cues of when she is gonna make a grind attack. It would feel less of an cheap attack. And it would make the player panic a little using more stamina trying to evade her attack.

(1 edit) (+1)

I love the concept, but Fabienne is far too hard. There's no cooldown when they are grinding their feet on you over and over.

okay here's my advice to make your experience a pleasurable one:

1. Always choose Blanche FIRST. You are in for HELL if you pick Fabienne!

2. Grind your health/stamina/speed stats out with Blanche until they are maxed out.

3. For Fabienne, try staying down the bottom of the screen when she gets irate. Make quick sweeps of the floor for any friendship points that spawn at the middle/top, then quickly get back down to the bottom of the room or she will grind you out of existence.

(+2)

Appreciate you sharing tips!

Yeah Fabienne gets pretty unfair, I mentioned it in another comment but it is designed so that you'll most likely get splatted when trying to reach a rank 3 without upgrades.  Fabienne's damage and speed are much higher than Blanche though so it's hard even when you've maxed yourself out. I'll try to tone her down a little for the next update!

(+2)

This is wonderful, I love the characters, interactions, and art!

Would it be possible to export a Linux version as well?  Thank you!

I'm afraid I don't have a Linux system, so it would be difficult to test. Is it possible to play in WINE or something similar? Otherwise I'll try to look into it!

(2 edits) (+1)

I was able to get Wine to work! It required some troubleshooting though, so I'll leave some notes for other linux users:

The main issue was that the GUI-based archive extractors (for Linux Mint / KDE) were failing to properly extract the .rar file, leading to a corrupt .exe that Wine was unable to run. The context menu "Extract Here" option failed silently after extracting most of the content, but the "Extract" option after opening the .rar in Archive Manager *did* show an error.

To extract it properly, I had to install `unrar` and use it instead. For Debian/Ubuntu/Mint:

sudo apt install rar unrar

Then extract the .rar file:

unrar x StompingFriends_v020.rar

This extracts to a directory called "Earthquake". From there, you should be able to just open it with wine (`wine StompingFriends.exe`) or add it to your Lutris or Steam libraries.

Awesome! Thank you for leaving some detailed instructions. I'm not too familiar with Linux stuff, but would it help if I compressed future versions in a .zip or .7z file instead of .rar?

(+1)

Yeah, .zip and .7z are both much more widely supported in Linux environments than .rar, so if you can use those instead you'll probably avoid whatever weird bug that was causing this issue ^^

(+2)

Well done with Fabienne.  Got all the cutscene interactions with her, including the 3 loss dialogues.  Hoping down the line there will be an unlockable gallery added so we can see all the full images you made with each of the beasties.  🐰🐑

(+2)

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The plan for the next update will be to add a gallery feature.

games not loading for me ;-;

Oh no!! Try the downloadable version of the game, that might work.

(1 edit) (+1)

Do you think a port for phones could be made?

Is there any mechanics about which parts being softer take less HP from you and others (like the heels) more?

(+2)

A few people have asked for a phone version, I'll consider it once there is more content (4-5 characters).

For the new character Fabienne, the game does check which part of her foot you're under for a certain attack...

(+2)

really loved the game! not just for the paw content, but for the hand content too, looking foward to see more<3

(+2)

This is fantastic! I love this a lot

(+2)

Oh this is gonna be good! Cant wait to see what kind of characters we get in the future! Im expecting at least one of em to smooch the small human ^w^

(+2)

Not normally one for furries but this is a great game! Good gameplay and art style! I also love this first beastie's personality!

I think a Mouse character would be a nice addition ^^

(+2)

Nice little game ya got so far.  Looking forward to see more beasties, like a Mouse/Rat or maybe a Horse.  Or maybe a smaller beastie like a Stoat, would even have a little struggle moment as they either pin ya or they playfully place their paw on the PC, gently adding more pressure until you can manage to 'out-strength' the paw

(+1)

An update should be coming next week, so I hope you'll enjoy it when it's out! I do plan on adding something unique to every upcoming Beastie, but since Fabienne is only the second character to be added, she'll still be relatively simple.

it would be nice if some part of the ending dialog changed if you maxed out the difficulty bar. for the level 3 friendship ending if nothing else.

(+2)

For Blanche, that's easy. But the game's hard enough as it is for Fabienne. ;_;

(+5)

Great game hope to see more! would love to see potentially toe wiggles or even underfoot stomp animation when you get caught... Very enjoyable though hope this project goes well!

This. 100% this ^^

(+2)

Stumbled upon this game randomly, but I was suprised at how interesting it was! I love giantess content, and the idea of the multiple endings depending on the level of friendship reached is really cool!

Blanche is awesome already, bunny girls being one of my favorite furries honestly. I don't know if it's considered furry though, but I'd like to see a harpy in the future? Just an idea!

Will definitely keep an eye on update for this game!

(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it! Bunnies are probably my favorite too, which is why that was my first idea for a character :p

About what species could be next, I was thinking of diversifying away from mammals but I personally don't like birds that much. So a harpy is not very likely I'm afraid.

(+1)

Hm, I see. Well that's no problem. I'd suggest a raccoon girl or maybe rat girl too, in this case, but really, those are just ideas. I'll follow and play that game whatever the next girls are, I enjoyed it that much! Thanks for the reply, though!

(+1)

My prediction is:
1. Rabbit and Sheep;
2. Mermaid/Shark and Dolphin/Whale?
3. Dragon and Lizard?
4. Protogen and Alien?

(+3)

What an amazing find this little game is!

This game is so frickin charming, the writing is cute and funny, the art is really good, to the point that I really miss a gallery just to easily see all the amazing scenes in this game. The gameplay is actually solid, the multiple endings definitely help the replay factor and nothing feels too expensive.

There are also many cute details like the scientist wearing a fake mustache in the shop, I 100% she's secretly evil based on that alone

I can't wait for the future updates, this is a very special game you're making!

(+1)

Thank you so much! A gallery will be coming as it's a very requested feature, but probably not in the next update. I really hope you enjoy the upcoming content either way!

(+3)

This game has potential. As a furry and foot fetishist myself, I approve.

Just one question though, will there be any male characters to befriend in the future?

(+2)

There's no plans at the moment for male characters I'm afraid, I've just got a personal preference for the ladies.

(+2)

Understandable. I go both ways myself. :)

(+3)

god this is so great. it's so cute and the animations and sound are so perfect. i am extremely invested in where this game is going. big thumbs up

(+1)

Thank you so much! I hope you'll enjoy the upcoming new character when she's ready.

(+2)

Really liking it so far, I love the art and being able to get alternate outcomes with the spark is a great idea that if a gallery feature was added in the future I could see myself collecting them all ^^

(+1)

Having a gallery is a great idea! I'll keep it in mind for the future.

(+2)

My goodness, a giant game with stomp minigames that has of-age characters AND furries? Not to mention it is well made and actually has a sense of humor? It's genuinely a miracle!

Seriously, you have a great start here! Blanche is a fun first giant, Olive is an adorable dork of a PC, and with the latest update you have fixed my one complaint about the tracking being a bit too laser precise. I'm especially interested in seeing how this develops, given it seems the perfect mixture of "unaware" and aware content. Not to mention, it's nice to see a bit of gentle stuff mixed in with the cruelty based on how the three star friendship event ends! Fantastic work all around!

(+2)

Thank you so much!! Your comment means a ton, I'm honestly not very confident in either my writing or my art so I'm glad that you could enjoy it regardless.

Yeah I definitely wanted to go for a silly/lighthearted tone, since you can't really take a fetishy stomping game like this too seriously. I hope you'll like Fabienne when she's out! Here's a teaser: if anyone thinks the game's already too much of a grind, do not get caught under her hoof!

(+1)

I'm going to be straight with you: your art is amazing, and your writing is on point. Take this as someone who enjoys writing themselves: having levity mixed with genuineness can make even stilted writing very enjoyable. And your writing isn't stilted at all. It's good. You clearly are writing something that you enjoy at lot, and poking a bit of fun at it without getting too hard into Marvel Meta Humor. It makes it rather heartwarming, honestly.

And I cannot wait for Fabienne, she seems fun! I'm definitely gonna keep my eye on this. Out of curiosity, shall this involve only big gals, or will guys be involved too? I enjoy both, so I'm simply curious.

The only feedback I can currently produce is that the knockdown mechanic feels a bit odd. Every time you are knocked down, it gets harder to get up. I understand that on principle, but given it already gets harder to dodge, it feels like it could be tuned a bit. My suggestion would be to make the time necessary to get up tied a bit to the current amount of stamina you have. The more tired you are, the harder is to get up. This adds greater emphasis on ensuring you are not just wasting stamina, especially once your speed is high enough you can outrun the paw without sprinting easily.

(+1)

I can't thank you enough for your kind words! I certainly do have a vendetta against the type of writing that's associated with Marvel, where it feels too cynical, like you can't get invested into the story because the characters themselves don't act invested or take things seriously. So that's something to avoid for sure.

I'm 95% sure I'll only feature giant ladies, it's simply my own preference. But there's no certainty, my preferences like to change.

About the knockdown: You're right that it doesn't feel very good. I like the idea that the longer the fight goes on, the tougher it gets, the more resistance is thrown your way. But needing to mash is never really fun. And I haven't made it very clear in any of the instructions that you can double-tap Shift to get up instantly at the price of stamina.

I don't think I'll tie the recovery requirement to how little stamina you have left, since it's already harder to get up with low stamina because you can't rely on double-tapping Shift. But regardless, if you or anyone else has any other suggestions on how to improve the idea, I'd be happy to consider it.

(+1)

Double-tap Shift? Yes, please mention this, or include a tips page in a future update.

(+1)

There is a tips page in-game, if you go to options in the character select menu! It's also mentioned in the game's description. But you're right, 90% of players missed it so I should make it more obvious.
